Harold Daub was named Executive Director of PFSC in April of 2019. “Dauber” as he is called by most has been passionate about the outdoors his entire life.
Harold is a life member of the National Wild Turkey Federation, United Bowhunters of PA, and the National Rifle Association. He also serves as the volunteer coordinator of northern Dauphin County PA Game Commission district 6-22-1 Hunter-Trapper Education for over twenty years.
Harold is an advocate of science-based wildlife and resource management with a priority on resource first decision making. You’ll often hear Harold say “optimize opportunity, maximize participation.” He believes our resource agencies should follow science, and provide the most opportunity possible, provided that science indicates the resource can sustain that opportunity.
Harold is an advocate for inclusion. He believes the legislature and our resource agencies provide the regulations and the legal guidelines conservationists for our outdoor activities. “If we all follow the laws and regulations and display proper ethics, sportsmen versus sportsmen conflicts should not happen” is Daub’s advice to PFSC membership.
Executive Director Daub has been working with the PFSC Board of Directors to improve the organization’s communication with our membership. “PFSC’s product is ‘representation’ and representation begins with good communication” is another commonly heard quote from Dauber.
Prior to joining PFSC, Daub was the leader of the grassroots movement in 2015 to oppose the PGC’s proposed elimination of the Mentored Youth Hunting Program in PA. He led the successful effort to eliminate the prohibition on Sunday hunting in Pennsylvania in 2018-2019 when he was the Executive Director of the grassroots organization Hunters United for Sunday Hunting.
Dauber has been hunting and fishing his entire life and enjoys trapping when he can find the time. He enjoys hunting pheasants with his lab Katniss. He also takes Katniss to sit with him on his kayak while he fishes.
Executive Director Daub resides in Halifax, Dauphin County with his wife Marie. They have one daughter and son-in-law and enjoy time spent with their two grandchildren
